My Answers

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

It has got to be the decorations and when we all come together to celebrate the day. I know you all were probably expecting me to say the food but the feelings and the energy of Christmas are just so beautiful.

Do you have any Christmas traditions you CANNOT forget about each year?

I rarely do it nowadays but I hope to start it again but my nan and I used to make mince slabs each Christmas in preparation for Christmas Day and I really loved making my own kind of mince pies.

Is there a song that just gets you into that Christmas spirit?

It has to be Last Christmas by Wham or Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande.

What is your favourite Christmas movie?

This is a hard one as I like a lot of Christmas movies but I think my favourite would have to be Elf.

Which food is your must-have at Christmas time?

I love all the food as you can probably tell but either turkey and cranny sauce or pigs and blankets, so so good! Plus Christmas Pudding is my jam and always will be.

If you had to choose between Michael Buble’s Christmas album and Justin Bieber’s Christmas album, which one would you choose and why?

I’m currently listening to Buble so I gotta choose him! Like I’ve listened to his Christmas album so many times but with Bieber’s, I’ve only listened to two songs. Buble every time.

What is your favourite memory about Christmas?

There is one memory that has stayed with me since it happened. I remember getting my Nintendo DS and my mum, sister (i think) and dad went for a nap after dinner. I remember sitting at our glass table (my dad still has it 9 years later) with my new pyjamas on, a bag of sweets I got, a game and my DS. I was watching the Strictly Christmas Special and then Doctor Who and I think that’s my favourite memory. No worries. I believed in Santa. Everything was good.

When do you start decorating your place for Christmas?

Normally at the end of November! We decorated our flat on the 22nd November this year and I have been festive for so long now!

If you were at Christmas Karaoke, which 5 songs would you choose to play?

All I Want For Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey, Santa’s Coming For Us – Sia, White Winter Hymnal by Fleet Foxes, Baby It’s Cold Outside (there are so many covers idk who did the original soz) and Once Upon a Christmas Song – Geraldine Mcqueen (yes I know, very English of me).

What are your top 4 Christmas movies?

Elf, The Holiday, Muppet’s Christmas Carol and Christmas Inheritance.

What does Christmas really mean to you?

My mum dies in December so I like to plunge myself into Christmas. She loved Christmas and the whole month of December and I want to keep her memory alive with little things I do. Christmas is a time for people to get together, drink, eat and just spend time with each other. It is such a beautiful time but it is sometimes commercialised too much.

How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa?

I actually don’t know, I think I worked it out when I was younger as I saw a big present in my parent’s wardrobe and then when it came to Christmas Day, bang. The present was there so I am not really sure. I have a memory of when I couldn’t sleep because I was excited for Santa to come and I just kept looking out of the window waiting for him.

What do you think makes Christmas so magical?

It isn’t just one thing. We come together for Christmas. Christmas Markets are everywhere with people drinking mulled wine and hot chocolate. People are skating in the pop-up ice rink. We give each other thoughtful gifts. It’s the feeling of love and in December, it is all around.
