August Favourites

Another month comes to an end and this time it’s August. How did the summer go so quickly? Like I feel it went so much faster than it did. September is tomorrow and you know what that means? Autumn starts to descend onto us and the students, myself included get ready to go back to school, college and University.

I must say going into 3rd Year at Derby, I am feeling a little scared. It’s my final year as a Film Production student and that means a dissertation. Anyway, August still has today left so to celebrate the end of the month, let me tell you the things I have been enjoying this month!

P.S. This month’s favourites contains a lot of Primark stuff so apologies in advance!

Twinings Cold Infuse

When I’m not drinking coffee or Red Bull, I try to drink flavoured water and I love to put squash in my water bottle. I’m also a big lover of fruit tea but in the heat that suddenly rose in England, I didn’t wanna drink anything. I saw these on an Instagram ad and luckily Jack brought them home the next day.

I have never been so impressed by tea! The Sainsbury’s near me only stocks the Watermelon, Strawberry and Mint one at the moment but it’s such a good flavour. The teabags are really fine and you can leave them in the water. The flavour of the water gets strong after a couple of minutes and it is so refreshing! This would help if you wanted to cut down on caffeine and replace it with something. I really like this as you can take your tea on the go basically. If you like fruit tea, you will like these!

Primark Water Bottle

I have needed a water bottle for a long time. I hate buying too many plastic bottles so getting one I could refill was a necessity. I like the size of it and it holds a lot of water. Around 5/6 glasses of water which is nearly your daily intake! I love the design of it and for someone who speaks Spanish and is learning new languages, I love that the different words for water are on the bottle.

So far, I have no leaks or breaks. It washes really well, you just need some hot water and soap. I tend to either have water and lemon or squash in mine and it doesn’t leave a smell or stain the bottle which happens to a lot of water bottles especially a smell! For under £5, this is a really good bargain and will help save you from buying more plastic bottles!

Marc Jacobs Highliner

I am gonna admit to you now that this is one expensive eyeliner. £20… I don’t agree with that price at all even if it is Marc Jacobs. I got this brown eyeliner and another blue one from an Influenster campaign a few months back. I ran out of my eyeliner and decided to give this a try.

I only use this for my waterline and although it is brown, it does a really good job. The pigment is strong and it doesn’t come off as easily as my other pencil eyeliners. I don’t recommend it because of the price. If you can find some on Depop for a cheap price, maybe take them up or if you have the money to buy one, do it but there are still good ones out there. It is still a good eyeliner pencil and I have been using it all month!

Primark False Nails – French Style

You’ve probably seen this photo on my Instagram but I am loving these nails so much! I currently am not wearing them due to the fact I can’t type properly with them on. For £2, they’re a really good bargain. I tried some Primark false nails at the start of 2017 but the glue didn’t stick properly and I lost most of them on a night out.

This pair however and the glue seemed to not want to come off. The glue for some reason acted like super glue. I even bent my nail back (on accident of course) and I have never felt pain like it. I even went out for the night to the club and only one came off! I even glued it back on and it stayed. Literally, I am astonished by these nails and you should definitely go get some if you don’t want to spend over £20 on shellac.

Bingo Blitz

Yes, you read that right. Bingo. Look I am not gonna lie to you, who would I be if I did? I love Bingo. When my parents took us to the seaside, we would play bingo together. Mate, from that point on, I was hooked! I don’t have any money to go and play real bingo but this game is so easy and fun to play.

You don’t have to spend a penny! I haven’t! I never buy things from games and you gain credits when you level up which you can gain XP from playing bingo. Actually, a win win right there. I just love this and it is free to play on both iPhone and Android! I play in mostly the Catalina and New York rooms because they only cost one bingo coin per card! The cards get more expensive as you complete each room and go to the next. So Sydney is 4 bingo coins per card I think.

Delicious Sensations

After I had such a good success with the So… Watermelon spray, I decided to go into Superdrug and find something new and came across Delicious Sensations. I actually couldn’t choose so I just picked one at random and I am so glad I picked the green one. The fragrance is Kiwi & Palm Leaf and it smells so fresh!

It is a body mist and I use it every day. It smells like perfume but it has a fruity twist to it which I love. For £1.98 for 100ml, it is a pretty good bargain. The good thing as well is that the bottle is also recyclable!

Primark Smokey Eye Brush

I have a fair few brushes but rarely got my smokey eye right as I wasn’t really using the right brush. I found this really cheap in Primark and thought I would give it a go. I really like both ends of this brush. The flat end I use for concealer if I do a cut-crease or anything like that. The little oval at the end is such a good tool for a smokey eye! It makes my makeup look amazing. The bristles are really closely packed together and the fact it is small, it puts pigment under eye so smoothly. For £1.50, you really can’t go wrong!

Makeup Revolution’s Conceal and Define Concealer

I missed the whole wave of when every blogger was reviewing this as I was skint but I finally bought it and to be honest, I am really impressed! I love my collection concealer but it dries too quickly. I love Conceal & Define because it doesn’t dry down too quickly and you can work with it.

It does crease under my eye a little but not too much that it is noticeable. I love the doe foot applicator and how big it is. It spreads the product really evenly. I really like this concealer and the fact that Makeup Revolution has now brought out a supersize and a foundation to add to the family means I will probably buy all of them!

Primark Deep Cleansing Nose Strips

We all love a good charcoal strip once a week but I decided to test these Aloe ones out from Primark and not going to lie, I didn’t think they would be good. I am quite an oily person and the pores in my nose do get clogged quite often. I was quite surprised by how well these performed.

I was half expecting them to peel off mid-application but they stayed on and even went hard like the charcoal ones. I am really impressed by Primark’s beauty and skincare recently and will be using a lot more in the future! It’s so cheap and if it works then why not?

August Playlist

This month’s playlist features Drake, Bring Me The Horizon, Nicki Minaj and The Lonely Island. My Top 3 songs of the months are TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME by The 1975, Mantra by Bring Me The Horizon and Morning by Francis and the Lights aka the Keeping Up With The Kardashians new theme tune!

I love reading favourites posts so much! There’s never many favourites posts that I see that include music or playlist so it’s fun to see your playlists 🙂 I’m slightly concerned for my dissertation as well but I’m sure we’ll be fine! X

The Twinings Cold Water Infusers look so good – I might try them out myself. I normally drink squash but I am getting bored of all the squash flavours at the moment so this looks like the perfect solution. xx
