6 Life Lessons To Stand By

Throughout my life, I have had a lot of ups and downs and I have experienced things I never thought I would when growing up. Now an adult, I’ve learned a lot of things along the way and I thought I would share these with you and hopefully, they will help you.

I love giving advice to my audience but sometimes I never know what advice to give. So here are 6 Life Lessons I’ve Learned.

Be Yourself

This is my number one lesson I have learned. Growing up bigger than anyone else took a toll on me. The bullying and the names made me feel horrible and like I wasn’t meant to fit in but what is the point of fitting in when we’re all different. Being yourself helps you grow and become a better person. It doesn’t matter what size, colour, gender, sexual preference is, all that matters is that you embrace who you are and find comfort in yourself.

Accepting yourself and being yourself around other people is so rewarding as I find I don’t have to put on another face around people just to make them happy.

The People in your Life May Come and Go

I believe that someone comes into your life for a reason. To teach you something or to help you grow as a person. When they leave, we still learn something about ourselves. Not everyone will stay in your life for long periods of time but those who do are to be cherished. The people who have left my life taught me many things about myself and how I can help myself if those situations arose again.

Don’t Take your Life for Granted

It’s easy to take things for granted but once you see what you have and other people don’t, it’s hard to wrap your head around why and how people don’t live like you do. Everything I have I have worked for. It shouldn’t come easily to you. Working for something gives you most amazing feeling. When you just get it without doing the work, you don’t feel proud of what you did to get it. That is just my opinion.

What you have is so very special even if you don’t have much. There are many people in different situations who have less than you do.

It’s Okay to Cry

I’ve said this so many times. It is okay to be sad for a while, no one is happy all of the time. It is okay to sit in bed watching your favourite movie with snacks because that is what cheers you up. It is so necessary to let everything out once in a while and I find when I have had a cry, the tense build-up of stress begins to die down and I feel I can work on building myself back up to a happier place.

Be Kind to Everyone

Not everyone that plants themselves in your lives will be good but if you just be kind then there is no negativity being put anywhere. Being nice to everyone is hard as there are people we don’t like but if we avoid them and put out good energy, we will get good energy in return. I love all my friends and some groups don’t agree with each other but I am kind to both groups because I love all of my friends.

Being kind to everyone will take an enormous amount of strength but it will get easier in time. Instead of having an argument with someone, just walk away.

Life is Hard Sometimes

I’m not saying that all of your life is hard but there will times when you will struggle and sometimes it may be hard to bear. It will pass. I thought that my life was over when I was 15 as I was in such a depressive place but I made sure to stick it out and try to see the rainbow at the end of the rainstorm. I did and I love life now.

My life may not be the greatest but I love where I am at and it just shows that even though there are some tough times you may go through, the good times will come and you will feel better.

I’m not saying that if you’re depressed it will suddenly get better, that’s not it but there is a light at the end of the tunnel for you no matter what circumstances you are in. It takes time to get back to a good place but I know if you’re in a dark one right now, there is help there for you and you will be able to get to a good place.

I hope that makes sense.

I hope these lessons help you and let you live your life the way you want to. These are obviously not strict and you don’t have to follow them but I have learnt these the 20 years I’ve been alive.

Till Next Time,
