Being Your Own Boss

As a Blogger, we get to choose our own hours and how much work we do each day and if even work that day. Some Bloggers may not call it a job but I do. It is weird but I like working. I like having something to do and something to work on. Although I may not earn money like a 9-5 job and I don’t do Blogging and YouTube full time, I still class what I do as a job.

The word Influencer comes to mind and although I don’t really use it, most people class me as Influencer. I thought today’s post would be about how to be your own boss and be the boss you always wanted to be.

Also, I just want to say, I don’t necessarily have a trademark brand or company, this is just basically how to help yourself and your blog/brand and what I find has helped me become my own boss (in a way).

Planning is EVERYTHING!

Unlike this post, I plan literally everything. I have a Blog planner to help plan posts, I use a weekly pad to plan my week and when I need to post and so on. I’ve found that planning really helps keep your mind tidy and lets you know what you need to do each day.

My tips for planning each day are:

  • Make a list of what you have to do in the week. Write next to each one when it is due by.
  • Colour code the dates so you can divide the tasks up easily.
  • Divide the tasks up for each day leaving at least the day before the task is due to make sure it is complete.
  • Colour code your tasks e.g. YouTube – Pink, Blogging – Blue, Life – Yellow etc.

Planning can be annoying and if it doesn’t work for you then don’t worry! If it does, that’s amazing! I find planning helps me maximise my days.

Being your own boss doesn’t have to mean you earn money. That would be self-employed and hopefully, after Uni, I want to be that and be a full-time Blogger and Influencer. The way I am my own boss is I have a set schedule as to when I do certain things and I make sure I do things by deadlines.

The word Boss is a word which can mean a lot of things. It doesn’t mean you have to boss yourself around (unless you want to?) and make yourself do things. I find being my own boss, I have less stress and I’m able to do the things I want to.

I don’t know about you but sometimes, when I want to work with a brand or a brand wants to work with me, I’m scared that I won’t be able to be me? Like they have a certain expectation of what they want me to produce. I love brands that let the “Influencer” be who they want to be when working with them.

I love when a brand lets someone promote a product they want to because then they have full creative control over how they promote something and I find this is amazing. Being their own boss over how they present something. If you do have a brand and you are your own boss, this is amazing and I congratulate you!

I find when you have full control over what you do, you produce amazing things and that is why I love being my own boss. I get to post whenever I want and what I want. I feel as though anything is possible and I don’t have any restrictions when it comes to posting my feelings or anything.

I have no idea where this post has gone but I hope it has helped some of you realise you are your own boss (in a way) and you can own it!

If you understood anything I just said, please let me know below and what you have achieved by being your own boss!

Till Next Time,
